What is ZeeOS and what is it used for?
ZeeOS is a lightweight thin client OS designed to turn any x86 64-bit device into a thin client. It gives access to applications and virtual desktops hosted in the datacenter or the cloud (VDI, DaaS, SaaS). ZeeOS is a read-only operating system, which simplifies maintenance and reduces the risk of configuration drift or a compromised workstation.
Which environments does ZeeOS work with?
ZeeOS works with virtualization and cloud platforms including Citrix, Omnissa Horizon, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, Amazon WorkSpaces, Parallels, Dizzion Frame and Tehama. It is also Citrix Ready and Omnissa Ready certified.
What hardware can ZeeOS be installed on? Can it replace Windows 10 on our PCs?
ZeeOS is hardware-independent. You can install it on any x86 64-bit device, including Windows 10 EOL PCs, which extends the life of your devices by up to 8 years. If you prefer ready-to-use equipment, our own hardware thin clients come with ZeeOS built in.
How is ZeeOS licensed and how much does it cost?
ZeeOS uses concurrent licensing. Please contact us for pricing. Our hardware thin clients have no separate license, as the license covers the software only. Public organizations in France can buy ZeeOS through UGAP, with no tender procedure.
How can we manage thousands of devices with ZeeOS?
You can manage all your devices running ZeeOS from our Web Management Console. It lets you configure and monitor them remotely, across multiple sites and wherever they are located. You can also set up role-based access control and define each administrator’s rights according to their role.
Does ZeeOS work on an isolated network with no internet access (air-gapped environments)?
Yes. ZeeOS runs fully offline on an isolated local network, including air-gapped environments, with our Web Management Console hosted on-premises. It relies on internal certificates and has no dependency on an external certificate authority. For cases with no console and no license server, our hardware thin clients can run fully standalone.
Can we migrate from an existing endpoint solution?
Yes. ZeeOS can replace your existing operating system, including Windows and thin client operating systems such as NoTouch OS and eLux OS, on x86 64-bit devices. Migration can be done in stages, site by site or department by department, without interrupting your operations. Our team supports you in preparing your project.
